Is it legal to use a metal detector in Indonesia?

I wish to take my underwater metal detector to Jakarta and do some diving and detecting ,does any one know the legalities of this ,I would probably scan some beaches and mountain streams but i dont want to be arrested or hled,I would certainly ask permision if i was going on someones property
